Here is instruction on how to use Hitsteps on Blogger and BlogSpot Blogging platform:

1. Sign up for a Hitsteps account.
2. If you already have an account, login to your account.
3. Add your website name to Hitsteps and you will be given an Hitsteps API Code
4. If you already added your website, Open My Sites page and click on Setting button of your website name.
5. Copy Hitsteps Tracking Code, not api code ( highlight code using mouse left click and then press Ctrl+C )
6. Log into your Blogger / Blogspot blog.
7. Go to the layout area.
8. Click one of the “Add a Gadget” links at the bottom or to the right of your blog layout area
9. Clicking “Add a Gadget” opens a new window
10. Scroll down through the list of Basic gadgets to find the HTML/Javascript gadget. Click the text (that says HTML/JavaScript) to add the gadget to your blog.
11. Paste the Hitsteps Tracking code into the content section of the gadget.
12. Click Save and that is it!
